Here is our November update....I was in the ER with a kidney infection so I have been thrown off for a time...still trying to catch up. We had a fun Halloween and trip to the pumpkin patch. We also enjoyed our annual trip to the Puyallup Fair...one of the biggest in the country. And Nate and Jackson have enjoyed soccer. This was Nate's second year to coach and his team did have a winning record this year!
A couple days ago I was getting ready to work out on our treadmill. Sammi asked me what I was getting ready to do and I told her. She said to me "You are going on the treadmill so you can get the chubby out," as she patted my tummy. Wow, that is one way to tell it like it is! As most of you know Sammi is a precocious, beautiful, full of life girl. This at times is trying for Nate and I but in truth, Sammi brings so much spunk and sass into our lives. She cares about others and lives everyday to the max. Life would be a little less without our Samantha Grace!
Well, as if 2 surgeries before the age of 18 months is not enough...Wrider has a broken leg! He fell off my bed on Monday morning and I knew he was not ok, but there was not any specific injury manifesting itself. We went to the Dr. who poked and prodded and Wrider did not seem to mind. The Dr. said if anything still bothers him in a couple of days come back. Well the next morning I was changing his diaper and when I grabbed his ankles to lift him he really let out a cry and for the rest of the day he favored his left lower leg. Nate really did not think it was broken, but if I really did I should take him to the Dr. So this morning I took him across the street to our neighbor and friend who is a podiatrist. He examined his leg and when he got to the lower inside of his leg he started to cry. So off to get an x-ray and wouldn't you know it...broken. Dr. Smith (our neighbor and friend) casted it at his office this afternoon and apparently they only had 2 inch pink casting tape....not sure if that is true or if he was just trying to get Nate's goat! So on to the newest adventure with our little Wrider.
Here is a look at what is happening with the Taylor Tribe. We had lots of fun this summer with family and friends. We took a trip to Spokane for our Annual 4th of July Celebration! While there we went to Silverwood, a way fun water and theme park. We spent time with Grandma Taylor and Uncle Joel and Aunt Joyce. Later in July we trecked to Utah for the 24th of July. Which is Marci's families celebration. That was fun too, with a trip to St. George thrown in, and that was a little too hot for me. I have to say traveling with a toddler is really not my cup of tea. I have not learned the patience for it even after 3 kids. Nate and the 3 kids (yes I do have the best husband) went to Idaho to spend some time with his family and went to our niece Zana's baptism while I stayed behind (in Utah) for our niece Shelby's baptism. I do have some pictures of these happenings but Nate has put all our pictures on his external hard drive and I have a hard time getting him to put them on our home computer so I can update the blog regularly . So for now I guess that will be the update. There is more to tell, Mt. Rainier trip, 1st day of school ....so when I can get to the photo's more will come! Marci
Wrider had eye surgery on Monday. He had his eyes straightened. In the first photo he is in his cute hospital gown. The second picture was taken 3 days later. His eyes are very red in the inside corner. They are straight and he does not have to wear his glasses for now!
Wrider turned 1 on June 7th. I attempted to be Betty Crocker and make a fun, cool cake for his big day. So after scouring the internet here is what I came up with. I made a snake cake that I think turned out pretty good. We had a BBQ with some friends and it turned out fun.
Nate has been having anxiety over how many good movies are coming out this summer! Or what he thinks are good movies. So, he has taken Sammi and Jackson to 2 movies so far...Ironman and Kung Fu Panda. They all liked both of them. Sammi especially liked Kung Fu Panda, she keeps repeating the line "I like Kung Fuuuu" ! This Friday Nate is going to a movie for work too, how lucky to get to spend your work day at the movies! Needless to say Nate is spending much of his summer time at the movies!!
So, I am finally making the attempt at our family blog... As you may know I am very computer illiterate so this could be interesting. Hopefully it will get better with time and pracitce. And participation from Jackson and Samantha should make it fun. So here goes......I may need luck!
Jackson survived his first year of middle school, and so did I! Is middle school/jr. high just the worst or what? He was on the honor roll all year! Jackson played soccer this spring after a 2 year break and he is right back in it! He is really enjoying scouts and YM since he turned 12 in December, it does not seem possible he is nearly a teenager!
Sammi
Sammi just turned 9 in May and finished 3rd grade. She had a great year in school and will miss her wonderful teacher, Mrs. Brindamour! Sammi just finshed her first season of soccer and picked up the game quickly. She is excited to play again in the fall! She loves going to activity days with other girls at church. She tells me what music is cool!
Wrider
Wrider just turned 4! And looks like a 5 year old! He loves to dress up and act like all his favorite super heros! His favorite costume right now is his armour costume. He tells me, he is armour and I am princess! He palyed soccer this spring and it was a good laugh! He is such a sweet boy and still gives me super hugs and kisses!
